Description
This 3 hour/week workshop is an introductory course in fabricating, oxyacetylene cutting, and welding. An introduction to and use of: shop safety, welding equipment, welding knowledge, welding skills and welding techniques will be developed. Students must come to workshop dressed appropriately with thick cotton pants, (blue jeans or better) and protective leather shoes. Students will also be required to purchase their own Welding hat, Welding Shirt, and safety glasses. The duration of this workshop is 4 Months. Cost is per month. The included materials fee offsets costs for welding rod, gasses, equipment upkeep, welding helmets, face shields, and consumable materials. The objectives of this course are for students to be:
-exposed to and perform proper safety procedures in a shop environment
-exposed to and perform proper safety procedures while cutting metal
-exposed to and perform proper safety procedures while welding
-exposed to and perform a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
